Why I Support Savers

I have witnessed matched savings programs change the lives of low-income and very poor working families for almost 20 years, first with pioneering IDA programs in the early 1990s, then with the American Dream Policy Demonstration, the subsequent flowering of the US field to 500+ programs, through the SEED Initiative (children's accounts) as well as, increasingly, overseas. Call me a believer. But I can show a lot of evidence. I am Chair and General Counsel of the Corporation for Enterprise Development and focusing most of my time on creating the American Dream Match Funds, of which Save Together is the first.
