Why I Support Savers

I've been on the board of a nonprofit that provided IDA accounts to small business starters and it makes a huge difference.  I also have friends who started their own small business and participated in an IDA account and again, it makes a huge difference.  Startup capital is so difficult to come by for all businesses, but particularly for lower income folks who don't have that wealthy aunt or stepmom willing to just write a check, or that owned home they can leverage as an asset.   Finally, I've met some of the folks from SNAP and I'm glad to support the eastern half of my state!
