About Andria (How Savers Are Selected)

At 20 years old, Andria has had to become a breadwinner in a household that includes her mother, two sisters, a brother and her grandmother. The recession has reduced her family's income, so Andria pitches in by working roughly 40 hours a week at the Roxbury Community College Childcare Center and helping take care of her elderly grandmother.

But Andria is also determined to pursue her educational goals. She's setting aside $100 from each paycheck in her Dotwell/Midas matched savings account, and she has already made one matched withdrawal from her account to pay tuition for Pine Manor College. "College is the key to freedom,” explains Andria. “This is the only way I will get anywhere in life and achieve the things I want to achieve.”
